I have no noise issues.  My Panasonic is fairly quick, so is my sony.

Yeah, I just don't want to deal with the hassle of BD players. Noise, not
being able to play some disks, slowness, firmware updates and just not any
benefit to me as far as I can tell. 

 

My TV isn't *that* big and I'm sitting relatively far away, so I could've
gone with 720p if it'd been available. I think upscaled DVD will be fine.
Probably better than my current set-up of a regular player hooked up using
composite cables. ;)
