I haven't had it since I got married. We *did* get to watch cable when we
lived in my uncle's basement suite for six months, a few years ago, but I
found I used it mostly to watch Letterman and Conan (and maybe Carson
Daly, if I *really* felt like staying up late). I think D used it to keep
up with a few other shows at the time, too, like Heroes. (D frequently
takes TV-show sets home from the library and goes through them rather
methodically. Me, I've only done that with BSG, Rome and Big Love.)

FWIW, I have watched the last two years' worth of Oscars via justin.tv,
and I watched part of this year's Golden Globes the same way. It was
actually fun to watch the Oscars via a *British* feed, because for *them*,
it takes place in the wee hours of the evening/morning (if the ceremony
starts at, say, 6pm in Los Angeles, that's 2am in the UK -- and of course,
the Oscars being as long-winded as they are, the ceremony isn't over until
something like 10pm in Los Angeles, which is 6am in the UK).

Hulu doesn't exist in Canada. Netflix became available here a few months
ago but has a much narrower selection here than it does south of the
border. YouTube, thankfully, is *almost* as good up here as it is
Stateside -- but, yes, sometimes it, too, doesn't play outside the U.S.
And very few of the network websites (NBC, etc.) work up here either.
(Fortunately, The Comedy Network does host entire episodes of The Daily
Show, etc. ... but it does so using entirely different URLs than the
American websites do. So whenever Americans link to those videos or embed
those videos, we Canadians have to figure out which segment of which
episode the Americans are referring to, before we can track it down.)
