Yeah, same here.  (Have I mentioned here yet how BC Christian News, the 
paper I've been writing for since 1992, ceased publication this month? 
It's one of a number of things that have me wondering if I should settle 
for doing something non-writer-ish in the future ... something that might 
require taking courses, learning a new skill set, etc., etc. ... )

Well, Seattle would be northern, west-coast *and* only two or three hours 
away from the Canadian border ... so that would satisfy three of the four 
options you just mentioned.  :)
