Actually I don't think I ever specifically addressed wages as compared to
myself.  I said that I dislike that they get as a matter of default a full
retirement that they don't eve have to contribute to (or very little).  I
said that I think that their begin given such a great package on the tax
payers back is wrong.


And I want to again point out that you are still not differentiating between
public and private sector unions, at least as I see it.   Other why the
consistent harping opn the wealthy?

 

Or is it just that you want to tax them to keep the unions happy?

 

Fine, tax away.  Then what?  Without action everywhere we still end up down
the toilet.

A few posts ago you were "pissed" about the union members "making more" than
you.  Envy is envy.  Some of those union people worked hard for their wealth
and deserve the right to pay their mortgage and their medical bills.

 

The recent decision to extend the tax cuts for the rich was supposedly to
create jobs.  Well, they had their tax cuts for the last *ten years* -
shouldn't we be awash in jobs by now?  Whose prosperity were they really
driving?  Most of the new jobs being created now are at McDonald's and
Wal-Mart.

 

As for not taxing the rich because they'll move it offshore and hide it
anyway... well, once all the union jobs are gone and the wages are slashed,
the tax base is reduced too.  No one wins again.  Except the rich are still
rich and you have a whole lot more pissed off, formerly middle class people
wondering what the heck went wrong.

Yea, but you know what?  I am bored with wealth envy.  Some of those rich
people worked hard for their wealth and deserve the right to have it and
pass it on to their families.  Many of those rich invest a lot into their
communities and into businesses creating jobs.

 

Even the useless rich, the media and sports starts actually stimulate their
industries.  All the maney may sit in a pile in thei pocket, but it still
helps drive other prosperity.

 

And the other factoid is that if you raise their rates, you gain a year or
two (if that long) before they either are not rich any more, or they find
ways to move it offshore/hide it.

 

At that point, no one wins.   Either way the money is gone from the tax
rolls and gone from the economy.  Rich people spend and hire and buy stuff.
Until they are either no longer rich or they are hiding their wealth.

 

Unless you also use that short term gain along with strong spending cuts.
Then in two years maybe you can survive without it.

I hear you, but when the rich pay more, they're still rich.  Their pain is
minimal.  What is being asked of the middle class is basically to give up
being middle class.

 

As for that bottom 46%, pay them a taxable wage and they'll pay more taxes.
When they only have 1% of the wealth, there's not much there to tax.

But the point is that the rich are being pointed at as not paying enough.
Since all the cuts they pay more.  I would like one liberal talking head to
admit that.

 

And maybe that having a system where 46% pay nothing is not necessarily good
either.

Replace all of my "OR"s with "AND"s then.  I don't blame the CEOs for
everything, but to blame the unions for everything is just as short-sighted.
Painting all of them with the same sloppy brush because they want health
care and the ability to pay their mortgage, while insisting the millionaires
and billionaires are somehow above it all, just doesn't work.  

 

And when the ever-increasing concentrated wealth in America is constantly
insulated from the tax base, requiring the rest of us make up for it, the
connection is obvious.

The CEO increases the tax burden on what's left of the middle class by
outsourcing most jobs overseas *because of increased demands by unions for
pay wages which have destroyed the wage gap between skilled and unskilled
labor, and unions refusal to share the burden of increasing health care
costs*..

 

You can continue to blame the CEOs for everything, but the fact is that
greedy parasitic unions share a load of blame.

 

And again, what has this to do with Public Sector unions?

tax payer doesn't have any, he tells them to blame rich people.

with another plate of cookies), takes advantage of loopholes and offshore
accounts so his company pays little to no taxes (feasting on a crate of
cookies now), pays millions to elect politicians to keep his taxes down so
he fill his Olympic sized swimming pool with even more cookies, and finally
takes billions in bailout money from the taxpayers and rewards himself with
truckload of cookies dumped on his front lawn.

 

And then, fat and happy, tells them to blame the unions for the cookie
shortage.
