I've been thinking about this since yesterday afternoon, and trying to get a handle on what I think about this, and the jury is finally in: I couldn't be happier for you two. From my perspective, the past five or so years have been mostly miserable for Paul. I've watched the world pull the rug out from under Paul's feet, and I've seen him descend to the very cusp of hell-on-earth. And then things got, well, weirder. If possible, even darker, in ways it's difficult to describe. (All of this, of course, is my perspective from a distance.) Through it all, I got the feeling that God continued to love on Paul, even when He didn't always explain Himself or even show Himself. I like to think God sent relief in the moments it was most needed in ways no one could predicted. But the most dramatic demonstrations of God's love weren't finding a new job (although that was cool) and a new place (although that was neat). The most dramatic demonstration of God's love toward Paul was Patience. Is Patience. And I couldn't be happier for you two. From the very bottom of my heart, congratulations!
