Well, I'm a right-wing Canadian hater.

Then Christie Blatchford got shut up by the University of Waterloo.

Well, she's a, er, Governor-General's Award-winning Globe & Mail columnist.

In the latest predictable instalment of "Security Concerns Are The New Black(Out)", a Minister of the Crown cannot set foot on a Canadian campus because Ryerson University has decided to price his "security" beyond the means of the sponsoring group.

We know Ryerson has no commitment to "freedom of expression" because its beloved ovine-fornication specialist, Professor John Miller, attempted to intervene at the British Columbia trial to argue that it was entirely appropriate for the court to impose a lifetime publication ban on me and Maclean's. But, when you're trying to prevent a Minister of the Crown from speaking at a publicly-funded university, you have to be a bit more artful, and "security concerns" are the weapons of choice. It's a classic boondoggle: The totalitarian social engineers in the university administration pre-approve the thugs and bullies, who no longer even have to riot. The merest hint they might is enough for Ryerson to demand upfront security payments and shoo any dissenting voices far from their toxic groves.

"Israeli Apartheid Week" is Canada's gift to the world. It started in Toronto on Bernie ("Nobody knows I'm Jewish") Farber's watch, while he and the other cardboard cavaliers of Canada's "human rights" racket were out chasing phantoms. So, in Farber's boundlessly "tolerant" "diverse" Toronto, a real defender of Israel like Jason Kenney cannot speak at a public university: Celebrate the diversity of the people we ban! Up is down, black is white, "tolerance" is ever more intolerant, "diversity" is stultifying conformity, and the Great White North is retreating into darkness.
