My son has been unemployed since he came back to my house last summer. You
are a perfect example of what he has NOT done.

He has been really under motivated, likely because he is sure the daddy food
bank will support him.

Subject: Re: [DADL-OT] I guess it's my turn

Seemed like forever. From the first day I decided to make it my job to find
a job. I literally worked every weekday all day looking for work. I got up
early, got dressed up for work and went in my office and closed the door
until 5-6pm. Every day. Sent out dozens of customized resumes, called
everyone I could, kept job journals, searched the web, did everything I
could. I haven't been that focused in a long long time. I was driven by
terror. It was weird. The weekends were really rough...all I could think
of was "not another weekend" without work. The uncertainty was unbearable
and I couldn't do anything about it. It was a real out of control psychotic
episode. Ha! I'm not sure what it was this time, maybe it was my age.
Maybe it was I couldn't hide my "out of control"-edness from my kids
anymore, they being teenagers now. I've been in between jobs before but I
experienced nothing like this. I couldn't sleep and when I did I had
nightmares. Funny thing is, I've never been more financially secure in my
life than I was when this happened, yet I've never been more terrified.
Maybe it was all those lessons and movies of the depression and dust bowl we
had shown our kids. Maybe it was
filling my brain with too many worst case scenarios...I don't know.
But I've been driven. And now I feel really exhausted. Think I'm going to
take the day off tomorrow!

regards,
-Lance
