I prefer thinking of "stoning" as the biblical argument in support of 
marijuana.

Never seen that, though I've heard good things.  (About the miniseries, that is, 
not the tarring-and-feathering.  *Definitely* not the tarring-and-feathering.)

Incidentally, I never really thought much about stoning people to death until I 
saw the film The Stoning of Soraya M., which depicts a woman being stoned to 
death in Iran at some length.  While the movie was made partly by westerners 
(specifically, Catholics -- in fact, the very same Catholics who produced and 
starred in The Passion of the Christ) to show what goes on in Muslim countries 
today, I couldn't help but cringe at the implications of this for all those 
passages in the Old Testament where stoning not only happens, but is supposedly 
commanded by God.
