No, that is not a just system.  That is one that assumes any claim of abuse is true.  

 

***that is pretty much the case now in regards to abuse allegations against priests.  The catholic church is widely accused of being a fraternity of pedophiles.

 

Of course the burden of proof is upon the victim - how else should it be?  What stupidity!!  Do people such as Mr. Willis really want a system where you are presumed guilty upon the mere word of another?

In the same way that justice requires the accuser, (or one acting on the accuser's behalf in the context of crime), bear the burden of proof, justice also requires a statute of limitations., .  The above mentality perpetuates victimhood for those that really suffered abuse and ruins the lives of those falsely accused of abuse.  

 

**the statute issue is complex, and I see the point of both sides.   The problem is that some of the people with victim mentalities really are actual victims, and throttling their cases with a statute protects the abusers.  As I said, it is complicated, and there should be a reasonable middle ground somewhere..
