Maybe it was the content and substance of what he said more than who.  In
fact, as I recall it was less that as it was the way teachers were told to
follow up with it and the impression that it was intended to encourage
activism and such.  I think there was some substance to those complaints,
the teaching plan was a bit creepy.

 

But yes, I do remember the fact that other presidents had addressed kids
before.

 

As I also recall, the democrats had kittens when GHW Bush did this in 91,
and his message was more generic as near as I can see.

 

To me, anytime we start stuff like this with kids is dangerous.  Advertisers
know how easily kids are led, so do politicians.

 

But back to the point, I still think the comparison is a bit odd.

No, no, no... you misunderstand... I am talking about the people getting
worked up over Huckabee's commentary.  They remind me of the people who got
worked up over Obama speaking to the children.  He was not the first
President to do so-yet he was the first accused of being some sort of threat
to children for it.
