I plan to go through them again eventually on Netflix, probably before season 5 next year. Overall though, it's a great show. Tough to say if there are any really loveable characters, but they're almost all interesting, and it really feels like it captures the era it is set in (take it from me, I wasn't alive then). There was one line from near the end of season 4 that stuck out as just bad and poorly delivered. It was by a person in a bit part. My tenant was in his room studying at the time but could hear the TV and suddenly called out something to the effect of "what was that?".
