In 1948, after a divorce from the luminous Rita Hayworth, Orson Welles went
to Rome and starred in a B-movie called Black Magic. He also supposedly
never again made his home in America. This film attempts to explain what
happened with Welles as a sort of celebrity gumshoe.

While on the run at night in the forest from what appears to be perhaps
Communists with guns, Welles gets separated from his driver, a local who
knows more than he lets on. From a technical perspective, something
interesting happens starting at 1:00:11 and running for the next six or
eight seconds. For the filmmakers out there, what's going on there?
