Having just gotten married, I can relate.

My wife had a justice of the peace wedding the first time around, so she
really did want a nice wedding.  I was astounded at how quickly it added up.

in, right?"

Arrrrgh. It's all such a scam, and feels *so* narcissistic and artificial to
me. (Patience married young and against her will in someone's backyard, no
reception, no hullaballoo, so she never got to have that "big wedding" that
I did the first time around. Thus, she really desires to have that "special
day." Otherwise, I'd just have a quick lakeside ceremony at the public park
with a handful of our nearest and dearest, then go out to the Dubliner for
drinks
afterward.)
