I’m not judging the commoner, I am judging the excesses of the government and its employees. In fact since my tax money pays it, they are *my* employees and they are overpaid.. I'm not saying anything about the Christian principles of morality. I'm saying the slaves would have been justified in overthrowing their oppressors even if it were against the law and presumably "unethical". And furthermore it would do no good to go around policing individual slaves and decrying their ethics for not picking their share of cotton. Whose side are those enforcers on?
