Yea that too.  Still, the application of the 1st amendment has long been
stretched beyond its original intent..in many areas.

The "doctrine of incorporation" applies the substantive rights in the bill
of rights to the states as a result of the due process clause of the 14th
amendment.

Yeah, I don't get it. Individual states definitely had religious bents at
the beginning.
