Exactly.  Plus it gives the impression that he is just a 'crank' out of step
with his peers, and is pursuing his own agenda, which also undercuts the

But that is why the guy (the one Althouse praised a week or so back)
resigned from them and will continue to defend DOMA.  His public resignation
suggests he will give a full defense.
