It's just that this first exposure to his writing (I was only familiar with his penwork-never having read his books) and...um... really?  Each character speaks like what WND writers think "lefties"  and atheists talk like.  In general storytelling, he may be very entertaining...but if this is an example of his "message" mode of storytelling?  I'd say he is not that skilled.

Strawmen as art? Perhaps fair to say. Each character generally says what his type of character would say.
