Not to be snarky myself. You really don't know where the line is between people asking to see the long form birth certificate and a lone accusation of treasonous activity involving Canadians and WMD's? And it wasn't so "clearly settled". He had not released is long form birth certificate and until Trump came along was obviously delighting in associating anyone on the right with the birther thing. Until Trump came along Obama didn't want it clearly settled - they were getting plenty of mileage out of it, if for nothing else than stirring up his far left base to keep pounding that anything to the right of Trotsky was evil, racist, stupid, fringe, etc. As perplexed as you say you are I am equally perplexed that anything but perceived political advantage could have been the motivation in keeping Obama from releasing such an easily obtained, (by him), piece of "best evidence" to put the issue to rest. In fact if he had done it earlier the whole birther movement would probably never even gotten off the ground and/or stuck around with anything near the numbers it has now. I really, really don't. That's not snark, it's genuine befuddlement. I have been, and continue to be, utterly at a loss to understand the "controversy," which was *so clearly* settled. I just don't understand what makes (or made) it an ongoing viable concern. -- -pcg [email protected] -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
