No, the proponent of a document that is forged/doesn't exist is in much different position than one who is merely asking to see the best evidence of a claim. I don't believe Trump is any more a birther than I believe Obama is a Kenyan. It was a political game, Trump to gain favor with what he perceives of the republican base/far right, (which tells you what he really thinks of them, but also has to be accounted in setting odds on whether he really is running), and Obama to taint the republicans with the stigma of the far right. Obama had been winning that game until Trump joined it. Say what you want about Trump but he ain't stupid. Whether or not he really intends to run, he is all about self-promotion and creating the perception that he really may run is nothing if not self promotion. And I think it is exceedingly obvious that he is having a boatload of fun. Unfortunately that says more about the state of presidential politics than it does about Trump.
