No, I didn't put words into his mouth. I asked a question:
"So...um...my sister and her husband are child abusers? As well as any person who is not a Christian?"
It's an easy enough one to answer.
"No, I just feel that if I believe in Christ as the only source of salvation, I am letting my kids down to deprive them of that answer."
Part of the confusion was that he brought in all the non-religion stuff (like not drinking and driving) and that is why I wanted clarification.
