Isn't that pretty typical evangelical?  (not that J.O is, I have no clue).

Seems to me that quoting with partial context is epidemic.

And I note that he doesn't quote the *entire* proverb, just the first 
part.  The *entire* proverb says:

    17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls;
          when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice,
    18 or the LORD will see and disapprove
          and turn his wrath away from them.

I wonder why Jeff didn't quote the entire saying.  Hmmm.
