Seriously though, if we didn't respect Isalmic tradition I'd rather we not pay 
it lip service as if we had.  


But do we know he was dumped from a helicopter and not from a ship?  Isn't it 
possible that they got him back on board a ship, examined the body, took dna 
samples, (a bit cleaner environment than in the field or on the helicopter to 
minimize contamination), had a muslim chaplain prepare the body and even perform 
a perfunctory service before the body was put overboard?

Burials at sea in the naval tradition are very respectful.  So I'm not sure why 
the assumption is that this wasn't respectfully done, even if radical Lebanese 
clerics aren't happy about it, (what are the odds that anything we did would 
have satisfied them).
