Actually, so far, studies have favored gay parents as well.

***That said where I used to live there were two lesbian couples.  One was
two of the most loving women I have met in a long time, and whom I would
allow to watch my daughter without fail.  The other was the most dysfunction
relationship I can recall seeing in a long time.  YMMV

Of course, another trend of western culture in regards to family is
progressively smaller family units as generations pass-to the point that
some are worried about Western Civilization falling apart.

**well, don't forget the two parents working aspect too....
