I guess, as far as the sensitivity debate goes, we now have to ask (a) how 
that 1939 movie depicted Geronimo, and (b) whether the guy who coined the 
term meant it as "I'm jumping into battle like Geronimo did!" or as "I'm 
jumping in to attack Geronimo!"  Or maybe he didn't mean it in *either* 
way... it sounds like he was just trying to prove that he was so in 
control of himself during the jump that he could keep a promise to do 
something that he promised the day before, or something like that.

In other words, maybe it's just a meme, and always has been.
