I don't think we must have the direct connection here.

Drugs *are* bad, at least in the anecdotal evidence I have witnessed,
policing drugs is good IMHO.

But no one (least of all me) is going to argue that overdoing so badly it is
good.  If they did not identify as police officers, they are liable in my
mind particularly when doing so may have diffused it.  If they had and he
had shot anyways, I might see that different, but since his safety was on, I
think it is fair to say that one swat guy shot first, then the others fired
in response to that shot.

I am all for police having response teams, but I want them used where that
is the appropriate levels of response.  This was not even close.

And the fact that they thought the wife was gone shows they were paying
attention and waited till he got home.  If safety was a concern, raid the
house when it is empty, and pop the buy still in his car if you think he is
carrying.

Unless, of course, he is a terrorist.  Then just cap him in his bedroom.

Bad enough to murder a guy in front of his wife and 4 year old.  I feel so
much better knowing I'm being protected by these kind of swat teams.  


Drugs? - ooooh baaaad.
Cops militerized, jackbooted and unleashing 71 rounds at a guy defending his

home/family? - the price we should willingly pay so the govt can continue to

tell us what we can put in our bodies.
