And ... I was wrong!  Turns out it was something else.

When he left on October 12, 2001, he cited two things that had been said 
by DADL-OTers as part of his reason for leaving -- one by Lance and one by 
me -- and, curiously, both of those things had been said originally on 
September 13, 2001, or over a month earlier.
