I don't think it is, entirely.  There are young earther's in Orthodoxy  
(much to my chagrin).
However I do think that many strains of evangelical Christianity lead  
people down the wrong path that end up pointing them to wrong (or  
irrelevant) conclusions.
A radical acceptance of solea scriptura in this case.
