Well in the context I mentioned different is directly equated to false, so
there is no room for any discussion.

I don't necessarily agree that simply because one church has differing views
about Jesus then he must a different one, but I think we may be entering
semantics here.

Certainly when she and my Mormon uncles during prayer speak of a Jesus that
died on the cross, that was god's son and their savior, he sorta sounds like
the same fellow.

FWIW, I have no interest in saying who "goes to hell" and who doesn't.  But
I don't think it's necessarily wrong to say that Mormons (or Muslims, etc.)
believe in a different Jesus than we do.  I mean, if we take their theology
at its word, than we have to acknowledge that they believe different things
about Jesus than we do -- *very* different things, in some ways.

Most Christian denominations have split off from one another not because
they believe different things about Jesus, but because they believe
different things about the Church, or about the specific way in which God is
supposed to be redeeming the world now through the Body of Christ.  But
these, it seems to me, are smaller differences than the differences that
divide small-o orthodox Christians from Mormons, Muslims and others who deny
the divinity of Christ or, alternatively, have redefined divinity in some
radical way.

And, to repeat: having different beliefs about Jesus does not, in and of
itself, send someone to heaven or hell, in my opinion.  I can't believe the
real Jesus would be so petty.
