I guess the question is, is the homeowner considered 'violent' if he arms
himself with a weapon when he fears his home is being broken into. To my
mind, if his safety is on, the answer is no. Furthermore, he was clearly
more careful with regard to who he fired his weapon at than the invading
SWAT officers. The fault here is all on the PIMA County squad. In my mind,
they are guilty of murder, and his only crime was trying to wake up and
protect his family. The groggiest I've ever been is being awakened shortly
after going to sleep after working a long, hard day. The most violent thing
about this guy was trying to wake up while his home was being broken into by
the 'authorities.'
