I try to put myself in the other guy's shoes. ***me too What if it wasn't a SWAT team breaking into his house? ***then they wouldn't have used a police siren and knocked. What if it was the thugs who were breaking into other homes in the area? ***see above If you were a veteran of two tours of Iraq, would you let your rifle (not shotgun) hidden away and reason with someone who could loot your home and rape your wife and kill your kids, or would you be prepared? From his perspective, it would have been helpful to know the SWAT team was coming, but he didn't. ***except for the knocking and siren of course. But your right, the swat team should have called first and asked for permissions to come by for tea and skittles. I can't fault him for being prepared. I can fault the SWAT team for transgressing their training. ***if the gun was pointed at them in a shooting position they did. What should have happened is that both sides had weapons, but both were trained in when (and when not) to use them. One of those two sides failed their training, and a homeowner died. ***unless he was aiming the gun at them. -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
