No I am not ignoring that.  Firing first is not an issue *IF* he pointed the
rifle at them.  It does not matter how tired he was, they cannot possible be
expected to know that when confronted with a rifle pointed at them.

And so your standard is that police have to wait to be shot first?  Trusting
that their armor will protect them?  Really?

You keep mentioning the rifle and forget the grogginess after the 12 hour
shift. It matters. Also, they have body armor and he didn't. Also, they
fired first (and 70 times after that) and he didn't fire at all.

Sorry, jackbooted thugs. If you want to make the case that we're too steeped
in a culture of violence, you have to point the finger at those guys and not
the homeowner. All the violence came from their direction.
