" They'll blame Obama for it too, because a) Obama didn't do anything to stop it; b) it's exactly the kind of loony overreach that characterizes the entire Obama presidency...." Of course, since it was driven by the democrats when they took control of congress in 2007, as part of their 100 hour plan. What might be interesting also is if Obama voted for the bill....and the answer is that he voted for the original bill but did not vote on the final version. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Peter T. Bush banned light bulbs -- not right away but starting in what one hopes will be the final year of Obama's term. January 1 will bring us a Dim New World in which cars cruise slowly around shadowy neighborhoods hoping to make eye contact with a dealer so they can get their incandescent fix. Undercover federales posing as light-bulb men will stroll around Washington Square Park hoping to ensnare the unwary. "Bulbs? Bulbs? What you need, man?" To paraphrase the Wall Street Journal: Who says liberals don't care what you screw (in) in the privacy of your own bedroom? It was Bush's very special parting gift to sabotage Obama's chances. Little things that really annoy people can make a difference, and next year people are going to be complaining endlessly about the light-bulb situation. They'll blame Obama for it too, because a) Obama didn't do anything to stop it; b) it's exactly the kind of loony overreach that characterizes the entire Obama presidency and c) Obama totally supports the bonkers thinking behind the ban ("kill light bulbs, stop global warming!"), and has said so. Wall St. Journal has more. Well played, George, well played. It cost you nothing and could cost your successor a great deal. -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
