job stuff

So, today RIM (BlackBerry) announced lower Q1 profits than expected
and a low forecast for Q2 due to a delay in getting some products out
the door.  They also announced that there will be job cuts to
"streamline operations" and "eliminate redundancies".

Of course, I don't believe that there are any redundancies in my
department, and I don't believe that anyone is in a position to say
that there are -- we finally got a director this week after our last
one quit in November.  I could give more reasons, but I'm tired :)

I'm sure there are changes that need to be made in the company as a
whole, that would include job cuts, so hopefully whatever decisions
are made will be the right ones and will strengthen the company.  I
just hope they can tell us soon what our individual statuses are...
the suspense will be bad for morale.

Needles to say, I'd appreciate prayers for myself, my friends and
co-workers.  Hopefully my 8 years of positive reviews count for
something in this.
