I've got a set of old patent applied for DiMarzio's that I was at one point going to install in my fretless SX jazz clone. I've heard a number of folks talk about how good they were. Unlike the stacked humbuckers, these are a hot single coil design, so I'd assume they aren't "noiseless," Rob Smith Posted via Ubuntu GNU/Linux (v.8.10) Because software, like people, should be allowed to exist in an open, sharing community, and not kept contained by corporate greed! --- On Sat, 12/6/08, mark monillas <[email protected]> wrote: From: mark monillas <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Bass Place] DIMARZIO DP149 pickups To: [email protected] Date: Saturday, December 6, 2008, 6:02 PM sooo i have some bartolini pickup's 9j1 l/s how did they rate? Wow , what great pick-ups. I read an article a while back , in a bass player magazine about, a bass pick-up shoot out, & these pick-ups where rated very highly. So I gave them a shot . The set ran me, 105.00 with tax. These pick-ups are great : wonderful full tone , nice clean highs, great mids {nice & growly} , with a nice full rounded bottom end. They're a stacked hum-bucker with absolutely no noise at all , & all the tone , you could ever want. They're great for using a pick with , or just your fingers . They're also great for slapping , & tapping. I would highly recommend these pick- ups to any body , thats looking to improve the tone of their bass.
