Re: Carbon Fiber instruments

I play a ZON Sonus 4 which uses a carbon composite neck attached to a body made of wood. It never goes out of tune, sustains as if there's no tomorrow, and has a very tasty tone.

Years ago, while quite new to guitars, I had purchased a Les Paul Custom as my first electric, and found it to be way too heavy. I sold it and then went looking for its replacement. I came across two guitars in a store and was unfamiliar with either guitar's name. They both sounded and played great. I ended up taking home a patent-applied-for version of G&L's S500 (a very different guitar from the current model by the same name), and left on the shelf a very nice Modulus.

My friend, far more experienced than myself at the time, had told me that real guitars are made from wood!
