I'd out the Comp behind the Pre Amp. The Pre can boost certin freqs. (That;s whay we use Active Basses, Right?) If you wnat to add sustain and peak shaving then you have to to it just before it goes to the power amp. Of cource I am the guy asling EVERYBODY ELSE for advice on compressors. Just an Engineer's opinion.
