My first bass was an EB-3, of cource at that time I had already been playing out for like 10 years on Guitar and keys and with the accordion in the polka bands. (Wish I was making that kind of money again today). Now if you want to see a first guitar, I started out on a Danelectro "Convertable" Ugly Formica body and a neck only a turkey could love. My fingers hurt just thinking about it. You should have seen the guys laugh when i first showed up at pratice with it in it's canvas bag (Gig bags were unheard of in those days) In 63 I bought a Jazzmaster (that I still have) and put Bass strings on the Dano,,,Talk about an abortion! I did actually use it on a couple of jobs, though. It was a year later when I got the Gibson, Which I also still own, but I did get rid of the Danelectro then. My first guitar, but I hated it!...It was all I could afford at the time though. That Yamaha is a great instrument compaired to that Dano!
