hey, We all were new once! 

Welcome aboard!

Now, If you set it up right , ANY Bass will work for you. The set up is ALL of the battle. You have the rest of your musical life to play with your sound, but if you have to use a C-clamp to bring the strings to the fretboard, in 2 monthe you will no longer be a bass player. 

If you don't know how to do it yourself take it to a good luthier and have them do a first class set up for you. 

Again, What the rest of us thinks of it is irrelevant. What you think of it is the only thing that counts! If you like is it just tickes me to death!

Send a few MP 3s when you get your feet under you.
