Re: Passive VS Active

There were no such thing as actives back in the day when we were playing Motown, Kingsman/Paul Revere and even Beatles and Rolling Stones. Passive pickup did and still do fit that stuff to a "T"

Thease days with Rap, slap and pop, indie and the like Actives are the only way to go. 

Guess it's a matter of what you are playing. Each has it's place. I have a 6 String active, but wouldn't part with my fully stock old Fender J for anything in the world!
