Steve, you gave me a laugh, because it's so true.....

Ya know what I think?  
I think it's because the art of conversation is literally -- a lost art.
So it's easier to turn the ambient noise (and the jukebox sure comes in handy!) up so loud that normal conversation is impossible, and therefore...
everyone feels more comfortable.    

I haven't gigged in a while, but I'm reminded of one of my favorite times when I was...  a couple hours before the show, when all was relatively quiet, sitting at the bar for a little bit, enjoying a beer and good conversation (and of course, looking forward to playing).

It's the simple stuff...
