if you look under DIY schematics for tube preamps, they have some out there.. i've been lookin at them. they also have a kit for a acoustic 360 preamp w/ the 5 position eq switch. its not tube but definately has some tone............... Heatkit and Eico among a half dozzen others used tro make all kinds of stuff like that and you can still easily get the schmatics and assembly manuals. Nice big point to point chassis with plenty of room so you can play around with mods without a magnifying glass and surgical tweezers too. Best of all, They are priced right! I used to use it regularly as a studio monitor amp (very warm sounding) until one practice, one of the power tubes blew and took out a recently reconed JBL K120... I replaced the 6L6GC's and haven't had an incident since. Flooring may be different. soooo i recommend a minimium of 200 watts. efficient speakers. like JBL D140's SHOULD be able to handle a small room. even 4-10 if efficient speakers are used should handle this. NOW.. the real part of the equation is what your going up against.
