my take is this.. i've seen and used JBL, Altec, EV, Emenince, Utah, Vega, Radio Shaft, PAS and other speakers. Now..... JBL, EV, and Altec are VERY effecient, they work on the order of 101-103 DB @ 1 meter sensitivity. I've also seen Emenience with SPL on the order of 89db. the funnier thing is .... i've seen people loading cabinets with Automotive audio speakers........... which are also at the 85-90 db spl level. sooo i'd take the jbl. EV or altecs for woofers, they also perform to about 5k before roll off. and if you have a 2 way cabinet with a tweeter all the better. i was amazed to see at one point in time, you could get Crate amps w/JBL loaded stock. I don't use crate but hey .... Yo Victa, whatsoever you do, remember this here. You can't hold no groove, If you ain't got no pocket ! --- On Sun, 11/22/09, Steve Molk <[email protected]> wrote: From: Steve Molk <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Bass Place] BXR 100 To: [email protected] Date: Sunday, November 22, 2009, 12:50 PM Good advice. I would suggest changing the Speaker to a better more efficent speaker. I put a JBL in and my Amp and it is Strong enough to handle anything that has been put before it ...without going higher than about 4 to 5 at the highest ! > >Dont Let someone convince you that your Gear isnt what is holding you back ..Besides Gear is only Gear anyway .. > > Good Luck > > Michael > >___________ _ _________ _________ __ >From: chaos06360 <biketrader@ gmail. com> >To: bassplace@yahoogrou ps.com >Sent: Thu, November 19, 2009 5:21:17 PM >Subject: [Bass Place] BXR 100 > > >Have this amp.. i know its not too good for gigs but its good enough for now.. any suggestions on getting optimal sound out of it the way it is ? preferably without pedals.. i have a bass pedal but i found my fingers got weaker when i played with it.. also im thinking about new strings.. i am running super slinkys and i like them alot.. anything better out there that will give some more bottom end ? or is it my amp ?.. lol.. also looking to jam with mellow folks in N.Florida > >[Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
