Yea, those 85db speakers are OK if you drive them with a 25KW diesel genera=
tor....

Seriously, If you are into heavy overdrive and distortion I guess you are b=
etter off with an inefficent speaker. With the JBLs if you turn the amp up =
that loud it will take the paint off the walls, but with the 80 db stuff yo=
u can keep it down to a resonable level.=20

Radio Shaft, PAS and other speakers. Now..... JBL, EV, and Altec are VERY =
effecient, they work on the order of 101-103 DB=C2=A0 @ 1 meter sensitivity=
.=C2=A0 I've also seen Emenience=C2=A0 with SPL on the order of 89db. the f=
unnier thing is .... i've seen people loading cabinets with Automotive audi=
o speakers.... .......=C2=A0 which are also at the 85-90 db spl level.=C2=
=A0 sooo i'd=C2=A0 take the jbl. EV or altecs for woofers, they also perfor=
m to about 5k before roll off. and if you have a 2 way cabinet with a tweet=
er all the better. i was amazed to see at one point in time, you could get =
Crate amps w/JBL loaded stock. I don't use crate but hey ....=20

ng and so far this is one of my Favorites. I would suggest changing the Spe=

out going higher than about 4 to 5 at the highest !
