Nice article, but Will Lee uses Sadowsky, Lakeland, a Ric 4003 & so on. he might of used Fender in the early days of his career, but he has been working with Sadowsky for a long time. Now days, he has his own Sadowsky model that's called there Will Lee Bass & on David Leterman he uses a Sadowsky Metro 5 string Bass. I just wanted to get the facts right. Misinformation is not good. IMO

Hamish just "falls right into the pocket", plus, he can sing! Later in his career, he played with Sir paul's Band, both playing bass and Guitar, and he had a Ernie ball Stingray V. Alan , you're good too,but Hamish just got that "feel". Last, but not least, Robert "pops" Popwell, formerly with the Crusaders now a Pastor in Nashville , Tenn. Pops, first played with the Young Rasacals, and I often wondered who did play the bass, because when I saw the 
 Young Rascals, they only had a organ, guitar,and drums, I saw this site , that had a young picture of pops, with a jazz bass in a recording studio, back in the day. Now, when I hear that tune, "People got to be free", I can hear "pops" on that tune. Now, how did he get with the Crusaders, well, I don't know, but I do understand why. "Pops" is funky, and in my opinion, very melodic also. Listen to Sprial, on Those Southern Knights CD. Then, Then listen to the "funk-pop", that Pops plays on the last song on that same album. And, I thought Larry graham, Louis Johnson, and Marcus Miller, had the thumb thing down pack. "Pops", can pluck with the best of them, and at the same time, can finger like Chuck Rainey, or Rocco, and even James Jamerson. I know like to visit Nashville again, to visit "
 Pops" church and to get to meet, Him, and learn more about bass playing , and our Lord , at the same time. And, he did it all on a old P-bass also. I guess, The Late James Jamerson started us all funkin on a P-bass. Maybe, we must "revisit" the Fender P-bass. there's so much music history with that particular "bass". Ask Sting, he has two old P's with Him now, and he can afford anyone or even design one for Him self, but he picks an old "P"? Soulman
