Thanks. I just found some info that I thought I'd pass along.

This is from the manual for the Fishman sonic transducer which is what I ha=
ve in=20
my bass:

"A pickup in a guitar with less than a 20=C2=B0 break angle will often have=
 string=20
balance problems as well as poor tone.For such instruments, an adequate bre=
ak=20
angle can be realized by "ramping" the string slots"

So perhaps all I need to do is adjust the "ramping" of the string slot that=
 has=20
the problem. Here's a site I found that gives info on that even though it's=
 for=20
a six string guitar. (see the ramping section at bottom of page.)
