My reason of thought has always been. If the instrument has a good straight=
 neck, body & truss-rod. Everything else can be tweaked out, repaired or ch=
anged. My current example is: I was given this old five string OLP for free=
, when I sold my old Ampeg. I'm going to get around to taking it in to my t=
ech. So that he can replace the pick-up with a Norstrand, replace the bridg=
e with something much better, replace the cheap pots, with some new CTS pot=
s, replace the jack with a switchcraft jack, then clean up the frets & fret=
-board, then last of all, replace the broken tuner or just replace all five=
 of the tuners! Then I'll have a really good sounding & solid back up five =
string. That will probably run me about three, maybe four hundred, for all =
the mods. But, it will sound real nice though, when I'm done. I'll let you =
folks know more about this project, once I start it. Which looks like aroun=
