WOW - a blues-jazz musical tradition? I would love to hear worship there. What was that like? Russ A real trip :) I was baptized there. Probably a rather large subset of the trans-African churches in the U.S.A. actually have this tradition. As I recall it, Elvis Presley said that he learned most of what he knew from such experience. It really is amazing: after being there every week for three years, I have to smile tolerantly at Topeka's jazz ensemble (I don't even remember their name!). Most Sunday mornings that church rocked to a cross between B.B. King and other stuff I've only heard rumors of -- compared to them, all of the jazz concert groups I've heard sound sorta like MIDI put through a 1/16-note metronome filter :) -- Jonathan E.
