RE tremolo harmonicas

I've been "stuck" for a while now with my two double-sided Echos, one in A/D 
and the other in D/G.  Until they wear out I'll have to wait to get some of 
those solo Tombo Band Deluxe jobs that Dave and Noel Battle have convinced 
me are the way forward.  Now I don't know whether all the brands are the 
same, but I've found with my Echos that the tuning tends to drift slightly 
after time, and there's no real alternative to getting the covers off and 
doing a bit of fine-tuning, if nothing else to get the tremolo back to the 
degree (and consistency up and down the harp) that you want.   As I'm an 
inveterate tweaker I wouldn't be too swayed when choosing a tremolo by the 
degree of tremolo out-of-the-box - it isn't too difficult to adjust this to 
your own taste.  That Echo low-octave tuning is a pain and is pretty 
incomprehensible, but I've retuned mine to the Paddy Richter tuning (puts 
back the missing 6th note of the scale).  It's all too much fiddling around 
though, and I'll be on to those Tombos one day.
