It is becoming very clear that Hohner Echo Celeste is very uneven in production quality. But apparently we have a new kind solidly available: Swan. In Australia, it is hard to find tremolos in keys other than C, and so I had to resort to ebay. Initially, I bought a pair of Hohner Celestes, which I was a bit disappointed with. The lowest octave on the D harp was almost unplayable, and they both had reeds break after a few months on playing. Recently, I bought a similar pair of Swanns from the Really Useful Music Shop in the UK and I am very happy with them. The lower octaves work, they feel comfortable in my mouth and they sound great. In fact, I was in my local music shop trying out a neck brace for size, and a guy came up and asked what I was playing. He had only heard blues harps before and loved the sound of the tremolo.
