That's a nasty one! I looked at mine when I was doing my PS board - 
the inverter is potted in black epoxy resin underneath :-(((

look at the UK backlights site they have inverters which will work. 
The PDF is available for download, they are about oh 20-25 euros each?

They say better and with less noise too..... sounds good.
